Sirromet Weddings
Sirromet is a great option for anyone looking for an all-in-one venue. I've shot here many times over the years and there are few venues that can offer the high standard of food Sirromet does. In fact there would be few restaurants in Brisbane that could match their food; it's really that good.
There's two reception room options -- the restaurant upstairs and the Barrel Room downstairs. If reception photos of people chatting and laughing, listening to speeches and the first dance are really important to you then you will need to ensure you choose a photographer that can handle the low light of the Barrel Room. It's beautiful to the eye but places high demands on your photographer's skills.
The majority of the couples I've shot there have chosen to use Lagoona for their ceremony; it's the hidden away location down the back of the property. It's a lovely quiet area on the property right on the edge of the lagoon. It has drop down sides in case the weather gods aren't on your side and parking is a breeze. I think the reason it's so popular is because it feels like you and your guests are a million miles from civilisation. Keep in mind the vines vary from a brown stick to lush and green depending on the time of year you choose to marry, so if photos running through leafy vines are how you've alway envisaged your wedding photos make sure you check with Sirroment first before locking in dates. I've had a couple of brides living overseas lock in dates only to discover the week before their wedding that green leafy photos just aren't going to happen. For those times there's plenty of other locations to use -- there's dirt roads, long grass and fabulous sunsets.
