Gold Coast Weddings

There's simply no easy way to describe the Gold Coast as a possible wedding location - it just has too many options. You can have secluded and private, romantic and intimate, or wild and outgoing. All three of these options can exist right next to each other. There are not too many options if you are looking for a grand church -- Southport Boys School has a nice chapel but there are no grand Cathedrals on "The Goldie".

The majority of the Gold Coast weddings I have shot over the last 20+ years have been civil affairs on a beach or in a park so the lack of Cathedrals has had no real impact. There've been a few ceremonies in places like Palazzo Versace or The Marriot, and both those places offer great wet weather solutions. But it's what comes after the ceremony that makes the Gold Coast a great location.

here are some stunning beaches for photographs, the high-rises make for a great backdrop with an urban feel, and colourful walls and buildings are easily found. If you'd prefer a country twist to your wedding then check out the Hinterland heading up toward Mount Tamborine. Or there's my favourite Gold Coast wedding venue - Oskars at Burleigh. Team up a great band like Benjam for the music and you'll have views to die for, accommodation directly across the road, fabulous food and live music to keep the party pumping.

It's very easy to see why the Gold Coast is such a popular choice for weddings.
